Many painters and writers talk about the work of art as having a life of its own. For me, this is one of the joys of the creative process — that moment of discovery when I am following the story, waiting to see where it will take me. If the creative leader gets in the way of creative process, the work of art can be disfigured, paralyzed or even still born. Don't let your idea of the painting or the story prevent the true work of art from being born.
